Front: For this lighting we placed the bulb in front of the main object (me). I personally feel that this style of lighting gave a very clear look to the photo and did a excellent job making the whites white and the blacks black. It made the objects face clear and gave the image equal lighting throughout the entire picture. Out of all the lighting styles that we played around with, it was my favorite one to use to photograph.
Side: For this lighting style, the main object was sitting on a diagonal and the light bulb was placed behind and to the left of them. Placing the light here gave the effect that the subjects face was almost cut in half considering half their face disappears into the black background. I like this style of lighting cause it gives the photo a different appeal and I think it would be useful to give the picture almost a "creepy" feel.

Rembrandt: I did not enjoy photographing in rembrandt because I did not like the effect that it gave the photo. For this style of lighting, we placed a bigger bulb on one side of the subject and a smaller bulb on the other side of the subject closer to her face. I feel that the lighting almost gave too much light and made the subjects blurry, in my photo at least. I also do not like how part of the face is black.

Above: I feel that the above lighting was not effective. It made the photo very dark and the subject went very unseen. To prepare for this type of lighting, we raised the bulb high above the subject and and tilted it at about a 90 degree angle. I think the other styles of lighting were more effective and made our subject brighter and less dark, which is what I prefer to photograph. I'm sure that if I worked to find something to photograph with above lighting it would make a good photo however I did not like it with the portrait photos.
Back: Back lighting added a cool effect to the photos. For this one we had the subject sit on their knees and we placed the bulb directly behind their head. This lighting provided a soft light to the subjects face so you could still see their facial features, but it also showed a cool light that surrounded the back of their head. In this specific photo, I like how it outlines the hair and I feel like it gives it a cool effect that adds to the photo.
Below: The below lighting, I did not like at all. Not only is the subjects face barley apparent, but the lighting is very creepy. For this photo we had to place the light below the subjects head and we had to cover it with a magazine to reduce the large amount of light that was coming upon the subjects face. I also do not like how the eyebrows are partially lit and you can see the subjects smile but no teeth. If I got the choice, I would not use below lighting again.
